Ode to the Snow Gods
I closed my blog at almost eleven,
And hoped the gentle fall of white snowflakes
Would soon be drifting down from heaven
Creating a sea of powder white lakes;
Could the Snow Gods have heard my call for white?
Only a half hour later there they were
Floating effortlessly down to the ground;
I stood at the window watching the sight
As flakes touched the grass and the Douglas Fir
Creating music without any sound.
This is pretty much the same smile that was on my face when I awoke to the sight of snow in our yard. Granted, it wasn't as much as I was hoping for . . . but it made for a fun morning. Well, once I got Nicholas out the door.
He was just as excited as I was to see snow in our yard, and asked if he could go outside and "crunch" it. We told him he had to eat breakfast first. However, once he finished breakfast, it was a mini kick and scream fest to get him to put his boots on. Once we were outside . . . everything changed! SNOW BOOTS make very funny footprints -- that is . . . if you are 3 years old (LOL).

Hey, you guys DID get more than we did! Good for you, getting him out there early enough... ;)
You got more snow than we did. We just got a dusting. Connor was happy though, school was canceled!
Just a note ... we're up at the 300+ft level. We actually had a bit more snow, but by 10:15am, it had already melted quite a bit.
Wow! We live like 10 minutes away from you...how did you get so much more snow! Wow!
Seriously...a snowman. My kids wanted to build one and I said it would be about 6 inches tall with all the snow in our yard. And we are just blocks from you.
To all my friends (and hopefully you still are), sorry I fooled you with our snowman. He's only about 10-12 inches tall and standing on the back of John's pick up truck (LOL). We COULD have built a bigger snowman, but Nick was getting cold.
Next time, I want A LOT of snow ... I want to make a "Snow Penguin."
