Backyard
I had sooooo many plans for what I had hoped to accomplish this summer.
I had hoped to level out the back lawn ... seriously, there are times Nicholas runs across that back lawn and I think "If that hole gets any bigger, we're gonna lose him!" Yes, I'm exaggerating a bit! But, we just filled them in 4 years ago. I'm beginning to think we pissed them off, and now, they're out to get us.
I had hoped to tear out a corner of the back yard, realign the sprinkler system, and install a play structure for Nick.
I had hoped to figure out what was attacking my rose bushes, so that I would have beautiful planter boxes around my deck. WELL, technically I didn't solve that problem, but 2 of the 3 are looking much healthier. The third ... well, you could say it's still alive, but that's being gracious.
Just when I thought I hadn't accomplished much, ... I looked past the (ahem) "live" rose bush ... I looked over the sink holes in the lawn ... and I noticed that last week's warm weather finally made my beautiful lillies bloom.
Luckily, there are still 33 days of summer remaining!

Like you, we had many things on our summer "to do" list and most are left undone. We finally hit the front garden full steam last Friday and tamed it a bit (it's been bugging me for more than year, mind you). Mostly though - we just spent our time hanging out as a family and not doing the work. *sigh*
There's always next summer though, right? :)
Right now I am feeling a little jealous...of your camera.
That is a beautiful and clear picture you took. :o)
I'll keep next summer in mind Casey ... hmmm, I think I might have done that last year, too. (LOL)
Brenda, it took me at least 12 shots to get that flower shot--I was a bit amazed myself :-)
